Content:
This lecture will provide a broad overview of the
fundamental properties of classical, modern and "exotic" superconducting materials, as well as the manifold possibilities of their synthesis (as solid, wire or thin film), including modern micro- and nanostructuring techniques.
Major topics include fundamentals of superconductivity, classical low-temperature superconductors, high-temperature superconductors, Fe-based and "exotic" superconductors, fabrication of superconducting thin films and wires, critical currents and pinning in type II superconductors, micro- and nanostructured superconductors, as well as applications of superconductivity in electronics, medicine and power engineering.
The lecturer reserves the right to deviate from the content given here within the scope of the current lecture without special notice.
